why does it have to be faire with aikido? why is joue a l'aikido wrong?
Vous laissez tomber = You drop? Is that a valid alternative?
je pense que c'est Costard et pas costar.
is there a correct way to pronounce j’ai vs tu as. I noticed in the audio section they pronounce dash of them as an ‘a’ sound but in the video provided I hear the j’ai as an ‘a’ sound and tu as as an ‘ah’ sound. Wondering what’s typical or if it matters.
bien or bon?
I could understand, «c'est bon» «c'est bien» and «être bien + adv.» such as le contraire est bien documenté
But «être bien (alone)»?
I did not get "The masculine adjectives chaud and froid never agree in gender or number, even if the person/thing it refers to is female or plural:" can someone please explain what they meant? maybe some examples? please
Using le gerondif seems simpler that using a more complex construction using qui. For instance:
People don't eat the produce coming from farmers using pesticides. (Les gens ne mangent pas les produits des agriculteurs utilisant des pesticides)
People don't eat the produce coming from farmers that use pesticides. (Les gens ne mangent pas les produits des agriculteurs qui utilisent des pesticides)
Is there a preference?
"Jacques est descendu du haricot magique." was translated to: "Jack got off the magic beanstalk." I answered, "Jack climbed down the beanstalk" and it was marked wrong. Larousse clearly states that "descendre de" (using etre as the auxiliary verb) means "climb or climb down". Hence, my confusion.
Can you please put more in the story thanks
