Why is it la salle de bains - 'la' and 'bains'

Is it usual in French to use “parfum” to describe the taste of food?  Or is the speaker describing the smell of the food?  If the speaker is speaking of the good smell of food, is this a usual expression concerning food as well?

English: I knew who was invited, but I didn't know the other details.

French: Je savais qui était invité, mais je ne connaissais pas les autres détails.

I got this wrong.  My thinking was that 'who' was a direct object and a person or persons, therefore connaître.   I would have used connaître in the second part, again détails is the direct object, but I was influenced by my error in the first use of 'to know '; hence I chose savoir.  Please explain why the first calls for savoir.   Thanks.

I see above that bleu canard ´ is translated as ´peacock blue’    Should this not be duck blué´Paon is peacock I thought.  Am I wrong?

I think this is more a question about the use of lui, but there are some examples here that use it. Ils rient avec lui, pas de lui. They laugh with him, not at him. 

How do we know lui is HIM and not just him/her without any other context. Do I just take the translation for what it is, or am I missing something fundamental? I find this to be so confusing. Thank you. 

The theory says these are interchangeable yet I used malgré and was marked wrong

Please reconsider level of execise. I would suggest rather it is a B2 level because it is considerably easier than the other C1 execises 

In the test, it says -Il termine dans 2 minutes. shouldnt it be ..en 2 minutes. i have learnt that when some action finishes within a particular time we use en.
