Nouns and inversion.

George's question is interesting! Very often, in English, you may hear the following. "The front door, was it locked?". Also similarly, "Cécile, isn't she exceptional?". The screeching-brakes urgency of the first and the wonderment accolade of the second is relayed in the format. And yet the corresponding translation is rejected in the answers. How can you repeat the effect in French if not as follows. La porte d'entrée, etait-elle verouillée?/Cécile, n'est-elle pas exceptionnelle?

Gerund vs infinitive

For the last sentence "je les ai vus descendre de leur voiture", I wanted to say "je les ai vus en descendant". Would my version basically mean "I saw them while I was getting out of the car"? Or can you use en descendant to refer to the aunt and uncle in this case? Thanks in advance.

Think in spoken English is more the same like french

I think most people in English would rather say "more than me, more than her, less than him, because it's easy

Avoir vs. être used in phases of late or early

Would there be a difference in meaning between using avoir vs. ètre when saying I’m late/early? The English translations show the exact meaning. So is it ok if someone were to use ONLY avoir OR être?

Why is it "Tout ce qui vous fait peur est bête" and not "ce que"?

I thought subject pronouns ("vous" in this case) would make it "ce que"?

The rule I've been using before was if it's a verb/reflexive then it's ce qui and if it's a noun/pronoun then it's ce que, yet here we see "ce qui" followed by "vous". Super confused, sorry if this is obvious

Causative Faire

I dont understand why se faire refaire isn't conjugated to [s'est fait refaire] but s'est fait poser is conjugated.

Also why isn't the causative faire used in the liposuction phrase? :

elle a eu plusieurs liposuccions

Deliberate misleading'We have the teacher we wanted' - 'Nous avons le professeur que nous voulions'

I know full well that you include 'que' here (as a subjective pronoun follows) so why don't you put 'that' in the English example so as not to mislead into a deliberate wrong answer (We have the teacher that we wanted). This is out of order.

C'était deux jours avant qu'elle ne disparaisse - Subj. present vs passé"C'était deux jours avant qu'elle ne disparaisse"

Why is it "disparaisse" and not "ait disparu"? Because at the time of the story being told (two days before she disappeared) she had not yet disappeared?

many of my answers were right but you gave me wrong for eg i typed en haut de la tout eiffel you said en somme de la tour eiffel but here again en haut its correct you need to fix this
