It might be helpful if you indicate which it is? My natural inclination is to think it's past tense.
Bonjour,
I just wanted to point out that the multiple-choice questions on this test did not include the instruction that, "one, some, or all may be correct." In the past this has led me to choose only one option even though I thought that more than one was correct. This time, I chose the options that I thought were right and aced the Kwiz.
I bring this up only because it may cause some confusion to other learners as well.
I realize that I should have clicked on the Report button, but I had already returned to the lesson.
Merci beaucoup !
Not sure if question was clearly expressed!
For 'Je me suis cassé la jambe'
Why does it use suis and not J'ai, as its passe compose?
Just completely thrown by the imparfait/passé composé choices in this one. Before I started this course, I would have translated without hesitation "This has always been my favourite..." using the passé composé. However, mindful of "continuing activity in the past", I used the imparfait... and, as a result of that being wrong, thought, ok, I'll use the passé compose again at "I really wanted to see it on stage" (completed action in the past, surely?) - and of course that was wrong too. I'm really struggling to see what the logic is for using the particular tenses used here. The irony is, that if I'd followed my gut instincts and not thought about it, I'd almost certainly have got them the right way round!
At the end, could you say "Ça fait dix ans que je suis un prof" ?
I am a little puzzled as to why Kwiziq states has an irregular pp.
My understanding for 're' verbs is to remove the re (batt) and then add u (battu)? It is of course iregular in the present (je bats / nous battons)
