As we are doing translation practice here and we can check our mistakes here and correct it at a same time.....and if we have another document to translate and we do translation of that document at that time how would we know, it's right or wrong and if it's wrong then how can we correct it????

Is there any suggestion or any helpful method???

I always try to translate short stories from English to French but after completing it I get confused it's right or wrong..............

I translated 'Mother's Day' as 'fête des Mères'  which Kwiziq dinged as a mistake. 

The 2013 Compact Oxford Hachette French Dictionary uses the translation 'fête des Mères' (p  719).

I read that there can be much variety in how such events are spelled. 

Could it simply be that the spelling l used is not yet known by AI Kwiziq?

We can't hear "Apportez un pique-nique."

In the sentence: ¨Je vais acheter des pommes de terre et des patates douces pour préparer deux types de purée.¨, I used ¨purées¨ to match the plural established by ¨types¨. 

Is ¨purée¨ always a singular noun?

“…four or so…” sounds like an indeterminate or uncountable number to me, hence should be included amongst the right answers to the use of “quelques”.  is it four or isn’t it four? :-)

Can I assume this can also be used for its literal translation? EX: "When are we going to all get together?" "I don't know. When we open the presents?"

It is my understand that both of them mean 'the one' 

Is the pronunciation of the 's' optional in tandis que?

Brief explanation on how to know when w verb is followed by à, de or pour

Word reference translates flavor or flavour as either la saveur or le goût, except for yogurts or ice creams, in which case le parfum is preferred.   So, in the text, since we are talking about desserts in general, why not allow saveur or goût?
