Is the underlying phrase here "faire de [qch] la référence en la matière"? What does it mean exactly, and is it common?
My performance on this was dismal (lugubre). I don’t think it was me. It is too difficult for A1, à mon avi.
So helpful to practice like this.

I found this sentence on wordreference when I checked the word profondeur:
Ce gouffre a trente mètres de profondeur.
Is it correct??
Merci
Why is the verb « aller » inserted in the answer ? « nous te disons de ne pas aller te coucher » . Why isn’t it « nous te disons de ne pas te coucher » ?
does it mean "but it didn't depend on my fabulous boyfriend?" it just sounds a little weird...

The text reads “Tant mieux, car je n'ai même pas encore commencé à râper le fromage”, but there’s no “même” spoken in the audio (Cécile has confirmed this to be the case in the Q&A).
The text just needs a small correction.
