I just did a quiz and got an answer wrong. I answered d' in front of eau but the correct answer was de l'.
If that is the case, why do the French say carafe d'eau and not carafe de l'eau?
Due to my stupidity I missed marking one of my answers but one cannot go back to and answer. Could this be changed. Thank you.
Sylvia
It seems illogical that the French have chosen to say: « Que nous voulions » and « Que vous vouliez » (which are the same as l’imparfait) instead of « Que nous veuillons » and « Que vous veuillez » which IMO would fit in much better with the subjunctive theme.
The title of the note is grammatically incorrect: "Learn how to conjugate *of* conduire". Sowt it arrrt
Why "ils ont pris le temps" (passe compose). It seems to me this should be "ils prenaient les temps" (imparfait). This part of the sentence describes the background. Also, this is an opinion. I note that the same sentence uses provenaient (imparfait)
Like emouvant and paisable and se reconnaitre
In "Tu te souviens de mon ami Alain, que je connais depuis l'école hôtelière", is it okay to use "dont" instead of que?
Thanks!
Est-elle la ami du Lucas sont leur petite ami (girlfriend)?
