In an exercise I should fill in the following gap:
Mon fils ________ aller aux toilettes.
I choose "envie d'" but the solution seems to be "a besoin d'". But one example in the lesson about "Avoir envie de = To feel like, want to (Avoir envie de = To feel like, want to (French Expressions with avoir))" is:
J'ai envie d'aller aux toilettes !I need to go to the toilets! So I would like to know, if both are correct. And if not, how do I choose the right one?
Best regards,
Martin
I don't think its necessary to keep rating myself , tbh I could give myself a smiley face but it makes no difference to learning french !
Can you explain why bocal is not accepted. When I researched the word, jar, bocal seemed more specific than pot. When is a jar a bocal and when is it a pot ? Is it the size of the jar?
I keep getting marked incorrect in my A0 quiz when asked to fill in the blank. Every time I will use one of these and it will say I should use the opposite. I don't understand why/when to use one variant over the other, especially when there is no indication of formality in the question. At this point I feel like I'm taking the quiz over and over due to this one mistake and just switching between the two but always incorrect.
Take "le Sacré Coeur" as an example, which variant should I use and why?
Qu'est-ce que c'est le Sacré Coeur?
Qu'est-ce que le Sacré Coeur?
Halo friends,
I find French very interesting and wish to immerse myself deeply in the language. Any suggestions of the links I could use to get access to french tv shows, news and many others? Thank you.
What is ready in French
Bonjour à tous,
pourriez vous m'expliquer la différence entre ces 2 phrases ? (pourquoi on réutilise «de» dans la première et non dans la deuxième)
1-Cherchez bien sur Internet avant d'*acheter ou de* réserver vos vacances.
2-Ce cours est composé d'*une ou plusieurs activités.
merci beaucoup
Is the pronunciation of vont a bit odd in this phrase ?
