I found that in ce. it stress on u a bit more. especially ce sont. it sounds like suh sont.
The translation is ' tu soit prete', what would it be if you were translating ' By the time you are ready, ' ? I thought ' you were ready' would be in the subjunctive passe?
In English - Marie was stroking her cat / Her cat was being stroked by Marie - but était caressé is 'was stroked' or 'used to be stroked' - am I right?

This is about translating "no one had salted the road". Here you mean the "roadway", also called "the pavement" in British English, which I translated as "la chaussée" instead of what was given, "la route".

In this exercise, when I put a space before the exclamation point following '2011', it was marked as wrong. Is this an exception because the sentence ends in a number, or rather, should there always be a space before an exclamation point in French?
