"LUI" parce que les termes seraient imposés au maréchal Pétain. ou
"Y" parce que les termes seraient imposés à la France. (...la France accepterait les termes que le Chancelier allemand Adolf Hitler y imposerait.)
Sometimes Vouloir (to want) is conjugated as veux at the present tense, but sometimes it is conjugated as veux for the pronoun je. Does this have to do with formality?

Hello! I was wondering how to translate an inversion from English into French. For example, the English 'I left early, so bad was the party'. Could you use an inversion and say 'Je suis parti tôt, si mauvaise était la fête'? Or something more like 'Je suis parti tôt, tant la fête était mauvaise'.
