Quelle est la différence entre les mots "shooter" and "shot" ? Les deux options ont été présentées dans les réponses. L’un est-il utilisé avec des noms et l’autre avec des verbes ? ("Shooter" was given as an option when using "pour la digestion" [what I used] and "shot" when using "digérer").

Odd one out

une pomme à cuire = a cooking apple jumps out to me as an odd one out. You wash with a washing machine, iron with an iron and sew with a sewing machine but the apple is the one being cooked here. Is this a peculiarity of edible things or does the French just work differently to English?

A similar question has been asked but I dont understand why "à" is needed when "regarder" means "to watch"? So why is the extra "à" needed? I couldn't find anything that says "rester" is followed by "à" anywhere?
